Gorillas are all Blood Type ''B''
Chimps are mostly ''A with a little ''O''
Humans are 46% ''O''
39% ''A''
11% ''B''
4% ''AB''
Pseudo Obscure: There are actually more than 10 different mammalian Blood Types, none of which we have in common with hoofed animals, though we can get a blood transfusion from a Chimpanzee...Interesting enough?
Not that it matters, but I am BT ''O''...

Is there an evolutionary connection between the Blood Types of humans, chimpanzees and gorillas

The only connection is that A, B and O are related. Since we are closely related to the other Great Apes, we have much the same blood types. I heard that all mammals share the ABO system so I guess it is uninteresting.

Is there an evolutionary connection between the Blood Types of humans, chimpanzees and gorillas

I've never done any reading on this but, from the article linked below, I would guess that the reason for greater diversity in human blood types is the fact that we've lived in a broader range of environments that expose us to more different viruses and bacteria, which seem to be the stimulus for the evolution of different blood types.

Blood type research is being done on great apes in zoos right now, but it is still ongoing. There is not enough data yet to answer your question. Stay posted!

No, blood evidence is still inconclusive.
